This is a totally original Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, finished in its factory 2-tone Silver Sand over Garnet (deep aubergine) with light tan Connolly hide leather interior. This is an amazing ORIGINAL condition example with a low 55,300 miles from only 1 owner from new. In the last 30 years, the car sat in a private collection of cars as an example of the Rolls-Royce marque. Describing the car; this is an entirely unmolested and original example that is difficult to put into words. Never restored and simply cosseted its whole life with mostly original factory paint. Please understand, this DHC is not "perfect", with little blemishes in the paint and odd marks here and there. BUT, what makes her so special is she is so original. The purist will love her for that. She is in very nice driver condition but if you are perfectionist you will want to do some minor cosmetics. The original interior is a major windfall with excellent leather, carpet and trimmings. The rich ochre burl walnut wood presenting in very good original condition (with only minor marks in rear seat ashtray surrounds and quarter rails). The door wood is excellent and the dash and console present very well indeed. Carpets are very good and the headliner the same - all original. As importantly, it has been maintained well. Many signs of original Rolls-Royce afctory parts. Although rarely driven, the car was clearly looked after by a well-informed Rolls-Royce caretaker who regularly maintained the car. When it arrived to us, it fired up immediately and purred on our maiden test drive. The car has been thru our workshop and a bunch of typical things needed doing but otherwise in amazing shape. The car today, is in a unique original condition. Very clean, very true in all characteristics Rolls-Royce. Mostly original paint - on an early Silver Shadow/Corniche is almost an impossible find. The paint presents well but does show some blemishes and marks. None objectionable and we think its "originality" out-weighs the blemishes. There is a slight indentation on the left rear quarter that does not "jump out at you". Once again, not really bad but if you are a perfectionist you will want to have this redone. On the other hand, if you are going for another look, you may wish to completely repaint the car. Personally, I think this car in midnight non-metallic blue would make her stunning. (the Park-Ward Motors Museum has its own paint shop so please enquire if you would want this done by us). The interior remains virtually perfect and is an outstanding feature on this 4 door saloon. Everything presents in very good original condition and from an originality point of view, you would not want to redo it. The Connolly hide leather is stunning, showing its original Connolly hide signature finish. Connolly leather has a 2-tone effect with a darker dressing in the depths of the grain. This Shadow shows it off well with just the right amount of patina to look like, and feel like, a high-end Chesterfield couch. So inviting you want to just sit in it for no reason. The car drives smooth, without any bumps, rattles or knocks. It truly glides and “floats” like the Rolls-Royce of this era was designed and built to do. Testament of its well maintained history is the cleanliness under the hood. Not detailed but appropriately maintained. The trunk presents just as well. All external bright-work is well above standard and lights and lenses like new. Normally, the rear quarter bumpers rust out where the brackets are internally welded - not even a pit! The car is simply stunning to admire as well as drive. Whether you decide to keep her as she is, repaint her, or just do some minor tidy up, rest assured, there is no compromise on her mechanical superiority. This is something Park-Ward Motors has built its reputation upon and we will never make any compromise to our high reputation in this regard.
